Common Terms

Root Domain: top level domain which is the domain that you have purchased
Naked Domain: a naked domain is the domain without the 'www'
Subdomain: This is an extension of the domain you have purchased

Instructions

A Record

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  1. Click the domain you want to manage
  1. In the left navigation panel, click the DNS icon .
  1. Scroll to the Custom resource records section.
  1. In the name field, enter @ if you are adding a root domain or else enter the subdomain
  1. In the type field, select A and leave the TTL settings as default
  1. Enter 76.76.21.21 in the data field
  1. Click Add to save

CNAME

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  1. Click the domain you want to manage
  1. In the left navigation panel, click the DNS icon .
  1. Scroll to the Custom resource records section.
  1. In the first field, endter the subdomain part you want to add (i.e. blog or www)
  1. In the dropdown menu, select CNAME
  1. Enter cname.vercel-dns.com in the data field
  1. Click Add to save
