Common Terms
Root Domain: top level domain which is the domain that you have purchased i.e. hello.com would be a root domain
Naked Domain: a naked domain is the domain without the 'www'
Subdomain: This is an extension of the domain you have purchased
Instructions
A Record
- Click Account on the top menu bar.
- Select Domain List from the side bar
- Locate the domain you wish to add and click Manage
- Select Advanced DNS
- In the Host Records section (should be the second section), click Add Record
- Complete the fields:
- Select A Record for Type
- Host: enter "@" if you want to use a naked domain such as mydomain.com or enter the subdomain value (i.e. enter blog for blog.mydomain.com)
- Value: enter 76.76.21.21
- Click the tick on the right hand side of the row to save the record
CNAME
- Click Account on the top menu bar.
- Select Domain List from the side bar
- Locate the domain you wish to add and click Manage
- Select Advanced DNS
- In the Host Records section (should be the second section), click Add Record
- Complete the fields:
- Select CNAME from the drop down menu
- Host: enter "www" if you want to use a naked domain such as mydomain.com or enter the subdomain value (i.e. enter www.blog for blog.mydomain.com)
- Value: enter cname.vercel-dns.com
- Click the tick on the right hand side of the row to save the record
